roblindblad:

Aditi:
Hi Greg, I'm from Japan. Do you have any plan for having the concert in Japan during your tour in 2012? Our country is far from your place but it would be very wonderful if we can welcome you here.
Greg Lake:
I DEFINITELY PLAN ON VISITING JAPAN WITH THE "SONGS OF A LIFETIME" TOUR. I THINK IT WOULD JUST BE GREAT TO INTERACT WITH THE JAPANESE AUDIENCE ON A CLOSE AND PERSONAL LEVEL.
enigma625:
Greg is there anything you'd like to share with us about the upcoming tour?
Greg Lake:
I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE EVERYTHING I POSSIBLE CAN BUT ESPECIALLY THE MUSIC. THAT IS WHY I DECIDED TO CALL IT ' SONGS OF A LIFETIME`" IT WILL BE AN INTIMATE SHOW WHERE I WILL BE TELLING STORIES AND ALLOWING THE AUDIENCE TO ASK QUESTIONS ETC.
admin:
Thanks to all for coming in, we couldn't have done it without you :)
Dmvawter:
Whatever became of the fabulous Alembic basses you used to play?
Greg Lake:
ONE OF THEM SNAPPED OF AT THE NECK AND WAS REPAIRED AND BECAME PART OF THE LATE JOHN ENTWISTLE COLLECTION AND THE OTHER I GAVE TO A FRIEND.
karen or milemarker:
If your taking requests of songs to perform, I would love to hear Too Far To Fall ...live in April, Tarrytown or Ridgefield, either or, I'll be at both shows..... Happy Holidays. Stay Well.

BruceGraves:
Who were your biggest musical influences when you were growing up?
Greg Lake:
THAT IS A VERY HARD QUESTION TO ANSWER BUT IF I WERE TO BE HONEST IT WOULD PROBABLY BE MY MENTOR AND GUITAR TEACHER DON STRIKE.
ginnyb:
Greg, how will do you plan on spending your "down time" while you're in the States?
Greg Lake:
I TRY AND GET OUT AND EXPERIENCE THE TOWNS AND CITIES AND MEET SOME OF THE WONDERFUL PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THEM. THE USA IS A GREAT PLACE AND I NEVER TIRE OF IT.
pebbletaker:
Hello, Greg. What music do you like to listen to these days?

Greg Lake:
HI THERE, IT IS JUST SOMETHING I DO WITH IAN IN ORDER TO RAISE MONEY TO PAY FOR REPAIRS ETC TO THE CATHEDRALS.
frodo lives:
Hi Greg - How do you prepare yourself physically & mentally for a performance? Do you feel that massage helps?
Greg Lake:
IT IS MORE OF A MENTAL PREPARATION THAN ANYTHING. IT IS A SORT OF STATE OF MIND THAT YOU KNOW YOU ARE ABOUT TO ENTER AND YOU DO NOT QUESTION IT BECAUSE IF YOU DO THE NERVES WILL EAT YOU ALIVE AND PEOPLE DO NOT PAY TO SEE NERVOUS.
aquatarkus1971:
Hi Greg, how about a cover version of gary numans down in the park, that song is very dark, and your deep voice would be amazing on that track. spine tingling even.
Greg Lake:
THANK YOU FOR THE SUGGESTION, I WILL HAVE TO DIG IT OUT AND TAKE A LISTEN

mountainmike:
Hi Greg!! Have you been able to escape any damage to you hearing after so many years of the exposure to high volume music? I sincerely hope so!! Thanks, Mike from California.
Greg Lake:
HALF PAST FOUR.
greenhazel351:
Greg, do you regard yourself mostly as a music-driven or a lyric-driven person?
Greg Lake:
THAT IT A VERY HARD QUESTION TO ANSWER BECAUSE WHEN YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT SONGS THEY ARE BOTH INEXTRICABLY LINKED.
elpjva:
any new material coming in new CD?
Greg Lake:
NEW AUTOBIOGRAPHY AND WORLD TOUR FIRST BUT AN ALBUM AS SOON AS I CAN GET IT FINISHED.

keithdelliott:
Hi Greg, I've been a fan since 1972. The first concert I ever saw was ELP at Madison Square Garden in Dec 1973. Do you have a favorite ELP album and why? Thanks!
Greg Lake:
HI KEITH,,,,IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO PULL OUT A FAVOURITE AS THEY ALL HAD SOMETHING SPECIAL GOING FOR THEM. I REALLY DO LIKE TRILOGY FOR ITS CONCEPTUAL ORIGINALITY AND AT TIMES BEAUTY.
Bojan Serbia:
Words can not describe how much I admire you. I just want to say hello to you, it's big honour for me. You wouldn't believe how many fans you have in Serbia. All best!!!!!

frank57:

Greg Lake:
HI FRANK,,,,I WILL NOT BE TOURING WITH A BAND ON THIS TOUR I WILL BE PERFORMING ON MY OWN, PERHAPS WITH A SPECIAL GUEST ON SOME SHOWS. IT WILL BE AN INTIMATE SHOW FEATURING SOME OF THE SOGS THAT HAVE INFLUENCED MY LIFE AND MY CAREER. IT WILL BE INTIMATE AND PERSONAL AND WILL COINCIDE WITH THE RELEASE OF MY OWN AUTOBIOGRAPHY
harryhorick :
Hello Greg! Thanks for giving your fans this opportunity. Your song “The Sage” has long been one of my favorites, and in fact was a huge inspiration for me to learn to play guitar and sing. Will you be touring in the southeastern US next year, and would you possibly perform that song? Thanks for all you have meant to me personally, I can't wait for your 2012 tour!!!!
Greg Lake:
HI THERE AND THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ALL YOUR KINDNESS. I HAVEN'T FINALLY DECIDED ON THE SET LIST FOR NEXT YEARS SHOW BUT NOW YOU HAVE MENTIONED IT I WILL CERTAINLY BEAR THE SAGE IN MIND. I WILL BE PLAYING SHOWS IN ATLANTA AND FLORIDA AND OTHER PLACES IN THE SOUTHEAST SO PLEASE KEEP AN EYE ON THE WEBSITE
Beadlady:
Hi Greg! Happy Holidays to you and your family! And thank you so very much for your awesomely wonderful music --past, present & future! There is such an amazing depth to your music with both KC & ELP! My question is do you plan to visit the far northwestern corner (Seattle, WA pleeeeze pretty please!!!) of the United States in 2012? Suzie Seattle, WA
Greg Lake:
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR VERY KIND WORDS. SEATTLE IS A GREAT CITY AND I CERTAINLY HOPE TO BE PERFORMING THERE DURING THE 2012 SONGS OF A LIFETIME TOUR. PLEASE KEEP AN EYE ON THE GL WEBSITE AND SPEAK TO YOUR LOCAL PROMOTER AS THIS REALLY HELPS THEM TO KNOW WHAT PEOPLE WANT TO SEE.
epp1998:
Moin Greg, from Schleswig - Holstein, the North of Germany. Do you come to Hamburg in '12?
Greg Lake:
I HOPE TO PERFORMING IN GERMANY IN 2012 AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THERE
CrimsonTwin:
Hi Greg! I'm learning "From The Beginning" on my acoustic guitar...any pointers to help me out? Thank You!! Chris
Greg Lake:
IT IS DIFFICULT OVER THE NET LIKE THIS BUT IF YOU LISTEN CAREFULLY THE CHORDS ARE QUITE EASY TO PULLOUT. IF YOU COME TO ONE OF THE SHOWS AND STOP BY I WILL SHOW YOU THE CHORDS.
Aditi:
Hi Greg, I know you have visited Japan several times. Do you have any impressive episode which you have experienced in Japan?
Greg Lake:
PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING IS IMPRESSIVE WHEN YOU GO TO JAPAN, HOWEVER I AM SURE THAT IS NOT WHAT YOU MEAN. I THINK THE EARLY SHOWS WITH ELP IN TOKYO AND OSAKA IN THE BASEBALL STADIUMS THERE WERE PRETTY MIND BLOWING. I ALSO REMEMBER ARRIVING AT THE AIRPORT IN TOKYO AND SEEING THE WHOLE PLACE ABSOLUTELY PACKED WITH SO MANY PEOPLE IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR US TO LEAVE. IN THE END WITH THE HELP- OF A POLICE ESCORT WE MANAGED TO FIGHT OUR WAY THROUGH THE WAITNG CROWD BUT IT WAS DEFINITELY A FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE.
m.burridge@hotmail.co.uk:
Hi Greg. will you consider playing your best song Closer to Beliving ...in my opinion and do you have any new songs that you will consider to play next year best regards Mark
Greg Lake:
YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE A VERY GOOD MUSICAL EAR, I TO LOVE THAT SONG AND MAY VERY WELL INCLUDE IT IN THE FORTHCOMING TOUR
Liseli:
Hello Greg, and Merry Christmas 2011: I was wondering whether the Pictures at an Exhibition sixties breakthrough tour ELP had influence on the l'seventies decision to go onstage with the Works tour--and "Pirates,"?\
Greg Lake:
HI THERE AND MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AS WELL. REGARDING PICTURES ETC, ONE THING LEADS TO ANOTHER AND INFLUENCES ANOTHER SO I AM SURE THAT PICTURES DID HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE USE OF ORCHESTRA ETC IN PIRATES AND SOMER OF THE OTHER THINGS WE PERFORMED AND RECORDED.
frodo lives:
Hi! You were so kind to invite some of us waiting fans onto the bus to get out of a thunderstorm last year! Do you remember? Do you enjoy the organized "meet & greets" after the shows or do you like meeting the people waiting outside? I've done both & its all great to me. We really appreciate a few one-on -one minutes with you...
Greg Lake:
I HAVE TH GREATEST RESPECT AND FONDNESS FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ARE MY FANS AND THE FANS OF ELP AND KING CRIMSON. WITHOUT THEM I WOULD NOT BE HERE TALKING TO YOU TONIGHT. I AM ALWAYS HAPPY TO TALK TOGETHER WITH THESE FANS IF I CAN AND CERTAINLY TRY AND MAKE SURE THAT ANYONE WHO ATTENDS THE SHOWS ARE SAFE AND ARE NOT LEFT STRANDED ETC.
yeser111@netzero.net:
How is Keith's health nowdays?
Greg Lake:
GOOD AS FAR AS I KNOW.
aquatarkus1971:
Greg, how do you feel about tribute bands such as noddys puncture who we have seen several times in chiddingly, hi Tom, and hi Graham, we laways book our summer hols to see them there. Any feelings on tribute bands, especially ELP ones, which are very very rare.
Greg Lake:
IT IS ALWAYS AN HONOUR WHEN SOMEONE PERFORMS THE MATERIAL YOU HAVE CREATED. THAT IS HOW ALMOST ALL MUSICIANS BEGAN, ME INCLUDED.
LynnO:
I know you already know this, but I just have to tell you how wonderful Eileen is! She assisted me when I needed some help and was extremely nice.
Greg Lake:
HI LYNN, OF COURSE YOU ARE RIGHT EILEEN IS A ROCK AND THAT IS WHY I AM VERY HAPPY THAT SHE LOOKS AFTER GREGLAKE.COM.
Les :
Hi Greg, have you any thoughts on writing again with pete sinfield, some of the best music that came out of ELP was co written with him
Greg Lake:
PETE IS A GREAT WRITER AND A CLOSE FRIEND BUT AS STRANGE AS IT IS WE HAVEN'T BEEN IN TOUCH FOR A FEW YEARS NOW. I VERY MUCH ENJOYED WORKING WITH PETE AND WE CERTAINLY HAVE A WONDERFUL LEGACY OF SONGS TO LOOK BACK ON.
Gareth:
Would you ever consider covering any Moody Blues Material????
Greg Lake:
I LOVE THE MOODIES SONGS AND HAVE MET JUSTIN A FEW TIMES HOWEVER I DON'T PLAN ON DOING ANY OF THEIR SONGS RIGHT NOW.
Lee:
I've always thought it would be quite nice to hear your vocals with the soaring guitar work of Steve Hackett
Greg Lake:
THAT IS A VERY NICE THOUGHT, HE IS A GREAT PLAYER. MANY THANKS.
buzzdelano:
Hello Greg, Buzz Delano here. Hope you are well. What can you tell us about the material you will play in your 2012 shows ?
Greg Lake:
HI BUZZ, GOOD TO HEAQR FROM YOU. AS YOU CAN IMAGINE I DON'T WANT TO GIVE AWAY TO MUCH OF THE SHOW BUT THE CLUE IS IN THE TITLE OF THE TOUR, " SONGS OF A LIFETIME". THE TOUR WILL ALSO COINCIDE WITH THE RELEASE OF MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY AND WILL REFLECT SOME OF THE SOTRIE3S AND EVENTS IT CONTAINS.

jpodraza:
You were in greaty voice when I saw you and Keith in Shereville, Ind for the Manticore threatre show do you feel your voice is better than ever now, what you you attribute that too?
Greg Lake:
I THINK I AM SINGING WELL NOW, IT REALLY HAS TO DO WITH SO MANY DIFFERENT THINGS, STATE OF HEALTH, HAPPINESS LEVEL, SPIRITUAL FEELING ETC THEY ALL PLAY A PART IN HOW YOU PERFORM AS A SINGER.
Deborah Kreinen:
Hello Greg, My brother and I just purchase tickets to see you in Tarrytown N.Y.[Westchester ] in April 2012. We do hope it will not be canceled. Your voice was beautiful when you were in Peekskill N.Y. with Keith and we so look forward to hearing you again. perhaps getting also the chance for a quick chat like so many years ago. Will there be a new music from you before then? Thank you for keeping it going. Be Well.
Greg Lake:
HI DEBORAH,,,I AM CERTAINLY NOT PLANNING ON ANY MORE CANCELLATIONS AND I VERY MUCH LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THERE. DO STOP BY AND SAY HELLO. I WILL BE RELEASING AN AUTOBIOGRAPHY SO PLEASE DO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR IT.
Lee:
Would love to hear a solo gig with yourself + orchestra performing tracks such as Let Me Lve You Once , and closer To Believing at a venue like the Birmingham Symphony Hall (quite possibly the best venue I've attended )
Greg Lake:
WATCH THIS SPACE!,,,, RIGHT NOW I AM DOING A ONE MAN REVIEW WHICH IS CALLED "SONGS OF A LIFETIME" BUT SOME OF THE SONGS MAY GO SOME WAY TOWARDS WHAT YOU ARE IMAGINING
enigma625:
Greg, can you provide us with a teaser of what you'll be playing on your upcoming tour?
Greg Lake:
I COULD,,,,,,,,,
kriking:
I really enjoy the juxtaposition of different musical instruments and elements during ELP's early years, when you were producing the albums. Would you consider that a trademark of your musical style?
Greg Lake:
I THINK I DO HAVE A STYLE OF PRODUCTION ALTHOUGH I WOULD HONESTLY FIND IT DIFFICULT TO PUT INTO A FEW WORDS. I SUPPOSE IT IS SIMPLY A MATTER OF GETTING THE BEST OUT OF PEOPLE AND GETTING THE BEST OUT OF THE TECHNOLOGY AT THE SAME TIME.
tonyrich:
greg glad to see you on the road again - i cannot wait but also wonder what is the news on Keith these days -
Greg Lake:
I AM NOT SURE WHAT KEITH IS UP TO AS WE HAVEN'T REALLY BEEN IN TOUCH FOR A WHILE
Bernie:
Dear Greg, your version of Cadence & Cascade that was included on the "In The Wake Of Poseidon" was terrific (very different from Gordon Haskell), and brought the best from the composition. What do you think of that material of yours? Would you revisit any of those songs? Thanks for your incredible musical gifts over and over the years!
Greg Lake:
VERY MANY THANKS, YOU ARE VERY KIND. YES, I WOULD LOVE TO REVISIT SOME OF THOSE SONGS AND HOPE TO DO SO ON THIS FORTHCOMING TOUR
TheEmerson:
Hi Greg, I remember when I first heard Lucky Man. You sang it to me up at the window of Stonehill. Guess who I am? Can I throw you a coin??
Greg Lake:
NOW YOU HAVE COMPLETELY GOT ME FOXED? STONEHILL OF COURSE WAS KEITH'S OLD HOUSE IN SUSSEX BUT I CANNOT REMEMBER SINGING LUCKY MAN HANGING OUT OF THE WINDOW. PERHAPS I DID PLEASE REMIND ME
brewer1:
What is the title of your upcoming autobiography?
Greg Lake:
I WILL BE ANNOUNCING THE RELEASE AND PUBLICATION, TITLE ETC EARLY NEXT YEAR.

roblindblad:
Have you ever thought of colaborating with King Crimson again?
Greg Lake:
THE THOUGHT HAS CROSSED MY MIND FROM TIME TO TIME AS I STILL SEE IAN ( McDONALD ) QUITE OFTEN.
PK:
What do you think of Dave Arch & Trevor Barry on 'Strictly'.? Any chance of a GL appearance?
Greg Lake:
IT JUST SHOWS YOU HOW VERSATILE THESE GUYS REALLY ARE. I DON'T THINK IT'S REALLY FOR ME THOUGH, ANYWAY I DON'T THINK DAVE WOULD HAVE ME!
lloydpc:
Any plans on touring in Montreal?
Greg Lake:
MONTREAL IS MY SECOND HOME. I LIVED IN WESTMOUNT FOR A WHILE AND HAVE MANY OLD FRIENDS IN THE AREA. I AM SURE THERE IS A MONTREAL DATE ALREADY BEING BOOKED ON THE TOUR. JUST KEEP AN EYE ON THE WEBSITE AND I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THERE.

noddyspuncture:
Hi Greg - it's Tom from Noddy's Puncture. If you remember I let Keith use my L100 at High Voltage. I am currently revisiting 'Living Sin' with our new bassist and have a theory about the hard to understand lyrics, especially the chorus! Could you possibly have had the Salem Prostitute - 'Molly Hatchet' in mind when you penned the words? If so, I think I might have them sussed...!
Greg Lake:
HI TOM, LIVING SIN IS A LONG TIME AGO, YOU MAYBE RIGHT???
admin:
Technical difficulties again...please stand by
XLR8:
Your voicing on a live version of "Drop In" with King Crimson was just marvelous. Have you thought about performing that song again?
Greg Lake:
VERY INTERESTING, I WILL DEFINITELY GIVE THAT SOME THOUGHT. THANK YOU.
admin:
Thank you Karen :)
knifeedge3:
Greg, Cant wait for the NY shows, Do you have a band? or Solo? Can you talk about the tour?
Greg Lake:
I VERY MUCH LOOK FORWARD TO PLAYING NEW YORK. I REALLY DON'T WANT TO TALK TO MUCH ABOUT THE SHOW OTHER THAN TO SAY THAT I WILL BE ALONE AND THE SHOW WILL BE VERY INTIMATE AND CLOSE UP. THE TOUR IS CALLED "SONGS OF A LIFETIME" AND WILL CONTAIN SONGS THAT HAVE BEEN IMPORTANT TO ME THROUGHOUT MY CAREER.
LoriT611:
Bought tix to your Keswick Thatre show in PA. Can't wait! Will you be performing any new material?
Greg Lake:
I AM VERY MUCH LOOKING FO0RWARD TO IT AS WELL, DO STOP BY AND SAY HELLO.
mart0629:
Hi Greg, any memories you'd like to share of your time with Gary Moore in your band?
Greg Lake:
GARY WAS A BEAUTIFUL MAN AND A TRULY GTREAT GUITARIST. HE WAS A CLOSE FRIEND AND I WILL ALWAYS MISS HIM. THERE ARE MANY STORIES THAT I COULD TELL YOPU ABOUT GARY BUT THERE JUST ISN'T TIME HERE. I'M SURE IF TAKE A LOOK IN MY FORTHCOMING AUTOBIOGRAPHY YOU WILL HEAR SOME OF THESE STORIES AND SEE HOW MUCH GARY MEANT TO ME.
Tirzah2:
lol sorry Greg...fingernails and poor spell checker!! Yes, CONCERT and if you do come I would love to see you preform.. In the 70;s ELP was never in the Midwest. Always everywhere else but here! So please come and enjoy our hospitality.
Greg Lake:
I CERTAINLY WILL, DO STOP BY AND SAY HELLO WE WILL LAUGH TOGETHER!!!!
Aditi:
Hi Greg! I found that your lyrics, particularly in your early days in ELP, seems very philosophical. Were you influenced by any particular thoughts at that time? I wish you would write a commentary on your own lyrics some day.
Greg Lake:
I NEVER USUALLY LIKE TO DISCUSS LYRICS BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ANSWER IN AND OF THEMSELVES. HOWEVER, HAVING SAID THIS THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A CRAFT TO LYRIC WRITING AS THERE IS WITH ANY ART FORM AND THE MORE YOU DO IT AND THE DEEPER YOU LOOK THE MORE YOU WILL SEE AND THE MORE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND. IT IS NOT ONLY MEANING, IT IS ALSO THE SOUND OF THE WORDS THAT MATTERS.
windy:
Hi Greg, any chance of a gig at the Philharmonic in Liverpool?
Greg Lake:
YOU'VRE GOTTA LOVE LIVERPOOL, I CERTAINLY DO AND I DEFINITELY HOPE THAT I GET CHANCE TO PERFORM THERE ON THIS FORTHCOMING TOUR.

Greg Lake:
THAT'S FUNNY!!!

kriking:
Hi, Greg. So nice of you to take the time to chat with your fans. Looking at a lot of photos from '69-'70, you and Carl and Keith all had very long voluminous hair. Just wondering if you had a stylist who traveled with you.
Greg Lake:
I HAVE TO BE HONEST AND SAY THAT MY NEED FOR A TRAVELLING HAIR STYLIST HAS SOMEWHAT DIMINISHED IN RECENT YEARS.
konrid22:
Hello Greg How is your technical ability on guitar and do you spend much time playing? Are you still able to pull of such a wonderful solo as in ,,The Sage''? Is there any hope that you would perform in Poland during your upcoming tour? I've got to say that you're my favorite vocalist of all time and I really need to see you at least one time in life!
Greg Lake:
YOU REALLY ARE TO KIND. I DO LOVE PLAYING THE GUIATR AND I LOVE SINGING AS WELL, OUTSIDE OF MY FAMILY THESE HAVE BEEN THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN MY LIFE. I CERTAINLY HOPE TO BE VISITING POLAND AT SOME POINT. IT IS A GREAT COUNTRY WITH LOVELY PEOPLE WHO KNOW THEIR MUSIC. PLEASE STOP BY AND SAY HELLO WHEN I PLAY THERE.

HI MIKE,,I DO HOPE I GET TO PLAY RICHMOND ON THIS TOUR, IT IS A LOVELY PART OF THE WORLD AND A PLACE WHERE ELP HAVE MANY LOYAL FANS. I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AT ONE OF THE SHOWS
BruceGraves:
Welcome back my friend, could you tell us about your electric guitar rig, in particular what amps and effects that you use. Thanks.
Greg Lake:
THE MORE I PLAY THE LESS FX I USE. I THINK I TEND YOU LOOK FOIR THE QUALITY IN THE INSTRUMENT RATHER THAN THE PROCESSING. I USE KOCH AMPS RIGHT NOW. THEY ARE MADE IN HOLLAND.
frank57:
Greg, who will be in your band on this tour?
Greg Lake:
I AM DOING THIS FORTHCOMING TOUR ON MY OWN. I WILL PROBABLY HAVE SPECIAL GUESTS APPEARING BUT THE IDEA OF THE SHOW IS THAT IT IS AN INTIMATE INSIGHT INTO MY LIFE AND THE "SONGS OF A LIFETIME"

dschwy5:
I've seen in previous interviews references to your love of audiophile equipment and your interest in surround formats. Any chance of new high resolution surround mixes of your solo or ELP material? I love the SACD and the DVD-A releases of Brain Salad Surgery. Blu-Ray audio releases of other material would be great!
Greg Lake:
SONY ARE JUST ABOUT TO RELEASE ALL OF THE ORIGINAL ELP RECORDING IN 5.1. PERSONALLY I AM A BIGGER FAN OF TRUE QUADRAPHONIC.

What’s your favorite interview answer that wasn’t ever published?
Greg Lake:
YES
luckymanelp:
Have you ever thought about doing a Christmas album?
Greg Lake:
THE THOUGHT HAS CROSSED MY MIND BUT I DO NOT WANT TO DO ONE OF THOSE PARTY TYPE RECORDS. THERE WOULD HAVE TO BE SOME OTHER MOTIVATION.
seizetheday:
You and Bill Bruford were both in King Crimson at different times, over the years did you ever get a chance to collaborate with him? If so, what was the experience like?
Greg Lake:
SADLY I NEVER GOT TO PLAY WITH BILL, HE IS A GREAT DRUMMER THOUGH AND I HAVE THE HIGHEST REGARD FOPR HIS MUSICIANSHIP
kathyd:
Hi greg,Is there any chance of ian doing any dates with u on this tour
Greg Lake:
I ASUME YO U MEAN IAN ANDERSON? MAYBE I WILL BE PLAYING WITH HIM IN A COUPLE OF DAYS SO I WILL ASK HIM THEN. HE IS ALWAYS GREAT TO PERFORM WITH.
karen or milemarker:
on average how long is it between a soundcheck & showtime? I ask because I will be purchasing a VIP pkg. How nice to hear I'm a VIP! :)
Greg Lake:
I LIKE TO GET SOUND CHECKS DONE AT LEAST AN HOUR AND A HALF BEFORE PERFORMING. THIS ALLOWS TIME IF THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS ETC TO BE SORTED OUT. I ENJOY MEETING PEOPLE WHO HAVE COME TO SEE THE SHOW, THEY ARE ALWAYS KIND AND WE USUALLY HAVE A GREAT TIME TOGETHER WHICH IS LOVELY JUST BEFORE I GO UP TO PLAY THE SHOW.
lucky-woman:
Greg, how do you like to hang out and relax?
Greg Lake:
HELLO LUCKY WOMAN!!! THAT'S GREAT, I WISH I HAD THOUGHT OF IT!!!
WELL, I AM VERY BORING ACTUALLY, I LIKE TO COLLECT BOOKS BUT I DON'T DO IT ALL THE TIME, I HAVE JUST ACQUIRED A NEW DALMATIAN PUPPY CALLED VALENTINO, ( "HE IS A LOVER NOT A FIGHTER") AND HE TASKES UP QUITE A LOT OF MY SPARE TIME.
OOOOOO WHAT A LUCKY WOMAN SHE WAS,,,,,,,
roblindblad:
Hi Greg, how do you go about picking the music you'll play for the tour with such a long list of masterpieces?
Greg Lake:
YOU ARE RIGHT, IT IS DIFFICULT BUT THIS WILL BE A DIFFERENT SHOW AND WILL BE GUIDED TO SOME EXTENT BY THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY.

lucky-woman:
Hi Greg! Greetings from your polish fans! Do you have any plans to play in Poland? It would be great to see you here. And my second question: Which of your songs (with ELP or solo) is your favorite song?
Greg Lake:
HI THERE, I DO HOPE TO BE VISITING POLAND AND HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED PERFORMING THERE. I HONESTLY CANNOT PICK OUT ONE SONG. I ALWAYS GIVE 100% TO EVERY SONG I PLAY AND TO ME THEY ARE ALL LIKE CHILDREN, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CHOOSE ONE ABOVE THE OTHER.
admin:
To Bernie: the Greg Lake solo albums were just re-released in July 2011 and are available on Amazon.com
msidlosky:
If you formed an All Star band (ala Ringo Starr), who would you choose to play with? I know there are too many to name, just name four?
Greg Lake:
DAVIS ARCH, FLORIAN OPALE, BRETT MORGAN AND TREVOR BARRY,,,BOOM BOOM. THEY ARE ALL WONDERFUL PEOPLE AND TRULY GREAT PLAYERS
drpisc:
Hi Greg, any chance to see you again together with Keith Emerson and Carl Palmer soon? Have you plans to come to north Germany (Bremen) next year?
Greg Lake:
NO PLANS WITH ELP RIGHT NOW BUT I HOPE TO BE VISITING GERMANY DURING THIS FORTHCOMING "SONGS OF A LIFETIME" TOUR
cadasa:
Hi Greg , My wife and I loved ELP's High Voltage concert. Will your tour include the UK?
Greg Lake:
YES, WE ARE JUST SETTING THE UK DATES UP NOW.
timothymartin:
Hi Greg, Its Timothy Martin from Raleigh Examiner--hope you are well---when are you coming to Raleigh?
Greg Lake:
HI TIM,
RIGHT NOW I DO NOT HAVE THE DATES IN FRONT OF ME BUT I CERTAINLY HOPE I DO PLAY RALEIGH OR SOMEWHERE CLOSE AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THERE. DO STOP BY AND SAY HELLO.
jimmyk:
Your last tour included dates in Scotland. Any chance of sneaking across the border soon, preferably Glasgow?
Greg Lake:
HI JIMMY, I LOVE SCOTLAND IT IS A WONDER PLACE AND THE PEOLE ARE SOME OF THE MOST FRIENDLY IN THE WORLD. I AM SURE I WILL BE PLAYING THE SOMETIME IN 2012
popewho:
Hi Gregg, In retrospect to the 70's ELP shows, what was your favorite song to play live, and did you personally feel the energy feeback from the fans? popewho
Greg Lake:
IRT REALLY IS A HARD QUESTION TO ANSWER AS I ALWAYS GIVE 100% TO EVERY SONG OR PIECE OF MUSIC I PERFORM. I HONESTLY KNOW NO OTHERT WAY. THIS IS HOW I WAS TAUGHT AND IT JUST STUCK WITH ME. THE OTHER THING IS THAT TH SONGS YOU CREATE BECOME RATHER LIKE CHILDREN, IT IS HARD TO CHOOSE ONE FROM ANOTHER.
Betsy:
Did King Crimson or ELP have any unusual contract riders that you look back on with amusement or amazement (like the singer who required full access to the kitchen in every hotel where she stayed...or, of course, Van Halen’s famous no-brown-M&Ms clause)?
Greg Lake:
NO FUNNY RIDERS I'M AFRAID.
Gareth:
Of the many things that inspired you to write a son, what was the most unuseual......
Greg Lake:
I DON'T REALLY KNOW ABOUT UNUSUAL???MMMMM,,,,,,I THINK YOU'VE GOT ME STUMPED!
lakefan:
Hi Greg. Tnx for the chat. Just wondering your thoughts on writing the brilliant "Epitaph" and your feelings when the Mellotron was added. Marvelous song.
Greg Lake:
YOU ARE VERY KIND. I THINK EPITAPH WAS A WONDERFUL SONG AND CERTAINLY ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE KING CRIMSON ERA. THE MELOTRON WAS NEW AT THE TIME AND IT CERTAINLY MADE A TREMENDOUS DIFFERENCE AT THE TIME WE RECORDED THE TRACK.
Take a pebble:
Hi Greg, I wish I had a great and smart question for you.... but I dont. I love your history and accomplishments in music. I will see you in Chicago this year I hope! We'll talk then!!!
Greg Lake:
MANY THANKS. I AM NOT SMART EITHER SO THAT MAKES TWO OF US, LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU IN THE WINDY CITY!!
Betsy:
What instruments do you play other than the ones we know you for? Banjo? Tuba? Theramin?
Greg Lake:
ONLY THOSE I'M AFRAID, THE OTHERS WERE ALL TO DIFFICULT!
roblindblad:
Hi Greg any plans on releasing the Emerson & Lake tour recordings and are you working on a new album?
Greg Lake:
WE ARE JUST REVIEWING ALL OF THE KE AND GL RECORDING NOW AND SHOULD MAKE SOME ANNOUNCEMENT SOON.
dailrobertcox@hotmail.com:
Can you please come back to Boise Idaho and bring Keith, Carl, Ian and Mick with you.?
Greg Lake:
OF COURSE, I THINK I WILL ALSO BRING PAUL AND JOHN AND RINGO AND ROBERT AND ERIC AS WELL,,,,LET'S MAKE IT PARTY!@£$_)^%^*(*&&^
beadyminces:
Hi Greg, are you looking forward to Salisbury Cathedral?
Greg Lake:
I LIKE TO STAY IN GOOD WITH THE LORD!
osi:
Greg, from where I am sitting, you have to be the perfectionist of all time with regard to amplication and instruments. I remember the days of the Adamus's and Alembic's and, as a bassist, always tried to get your 'click' on the hit. Anyway, one of the best representatives of this was probably the Works Manticore special, so, the question is, please please please see if you can get this to current release. We need a quality DTS/Bluray issue.... really! Thanks - Mark - Knightsbridge, London
Greg Lake:
HI MARK, YOU ARE VERY KIND. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD A THING ABOUT THE SOUND OF A GUITAR, IT GOES ALL THE WAY BACK TO TRYING TO COPY HANK MARVIN. I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED GUITARS AND GUITAR EQUIPMENT. I'M SURE THE SEARCH FOR THE PERFCT SOUND WILL NEVER END.
Glenn:
Who is in your band for this upcoming tour?
Greg Lake:
I AM NOT USING A BAND ON THIS TOUR, IT WILL BE A VERY CLOSE AND INTIMATE SHOW ALLOWING THE AUDIENCE TO SHARE TOGETHER IN THE MUSIC WHICH MADE UP MY LIFE. I WILL PROBABLY HAVE SPECIAL GUESTS APPEARING AT SOME OF THE SHOWS.

Hi Greg, There's been talk off and on for releasing a version of the Pictures at an Exhibition video without the special effects. Is this still a possibility?
Greg Lake:
I HAVE TO BE HONEST AND SAY THAT I AM NOT SURE WHERE THAT STANDS, HOWEVER WE HAVE NOW MADE A NOTE OF IT AND SOMEONE WILOL FIND OUT AND AN ANSWER WILL BE POSTED ON MY WEBSITE SOON. MANY THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST.

karen or milemarker:
Hi Greg, I've seen a great photo of you on a fishing boat, I am taking a cruise to the caribbean at the beginning of March and wondered if you have ever been on a cruise and if so where did you go?
Greg Lake:
I AM LUCKY TO HAVE A FRIEND WHO OWNS A VERY NICE 80FT CHARTER YATCH IN THE CARIBBEAN AND I SOMETIMES GO SAILING TOGETHER WITH HIM. THE YACHT IS CALLED TABOO AND I THINK YOU CAN LOOK IT UP ON THE NET. I RECOMMEND ANYONE TO TAKE A TRIP WITH DAVID AND HIS WIFE MIRANDA.
kathyd:
Happy Holidays Greg, Can't waiot for you to share your music and stories again...will you be coming to Boston again this tour?Thank you for all the great memories and great music... n?
Greg Lake:
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR VERY KIND WORDS. BOSTON IS A GREAT CITY A I AM SURE I WILL BE THERE PERFORMING IN 2012, DO STOP BY AND SAY HELLO
Robert Gerard Hunt:
Greg, I've always enjoyed the sense of humor that permeated the work of ELP. What are your thoughts on the place of humor in music?
Greg Lake:
TO BE HONEST I AM NOT A GREAT FAN OF HUMOUR IN MUSIC, HOWEVER THERE ARE THE ODD OCCASIONS WHEN IT DOES WORK WELL AND THEN OF COURSE I AM OPEN TO USING IT.
LynnO:
Greg, thank you so much for everything you do. My question is; will the 2012 tour be filmed to create a DVD of the concerts? I’m looking forward to seeing you in April. Happy holidays to you and yours!
Greg Lake:
MANY THANKS AND THE SAME TO YOU AND YOURS, I AM SURE WE WILL FILM IT
shlomo:
What are you doing if you feel blocked and unable to finish a song you are writing?
Greg Lake:
I'M AFRAID THERE IS NOT MUCH YOU CAN DO. SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO ACCEOT THAT IT WASN'T MEANT TO BE. ONE THING YOU COULD TRY IDS FINDING A WRITING PARTNER, SOMETIME HE OR SHE CAN FIND A SOLUTION WHEN YOU CANNOT
Les :
Hi Greg,do you have any plans to do an evening with K Emerson/G Lake type tour again (in the UK this time) ?
Greg Lake:
NOT RIGHT NOW BUT YOU NEVER KNOW, MAYBE AT SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE
shlomo:
Do you have a particular time in the day or a favorite place, to sit and write a song?
Greg Lake:
I TEND TO THINK BEST EARLY IN THE MORNING BEFORE MY HEAD BECOMES FULL OF ALL THE CLUTTER OF LIFE. THE OTHER TIME IS WHEN I DETACH MYSELF COMPLETELY FROM EVERYTHING ELSE THAT IS GOING ON. CREATIVITY NEEDS SPACE.
Aditi:
Hi Greg, good morning from Japan. Do you have plan for the perfomance in Tokyo next year?
Greg Lake:
HI ADITI! I WILL CERTAINLY BE VISITING JAPAN AND I LOOK FORWARD TO IT IMMENSELY. JAPAN IS A GREAT MUSIC COUNTRY FULL OF WONDERFUL AND VERY BRAVE PEOPLE. I DO HOPE THINGS ARE AT LEAST STARTING TO RECOVER NOW AFTER THE AWFUL TRAGEDIES IN THE PAST.
pmaasbach:
Hi Greg, you said several times to speake to your local promotor. Is it possible to book straight or does it always have to go via lets say Mojo for example. Let me explain, we organise in 2012 for the 21e time a free festival with only volunteers. It's on Friday evening and Saterday the whole day with a total of 150.000 visitors in 2011. FREE and ONLY with VOLUNTEERS!! To book bands by for example Mojo they are most of the time not cooperative. Look on www.appelpop.nl
Greg Lake:
BEST THING TO DO IS TO GO TO MY WEBSITE, ALL THE INFO YOU NEED FOR BOOKING SHOWS ETC IS THERE. MANY THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST.
Laura in VT:
Thank you for everything Greg. Can't wait to see you in April. Do you have a very special Christmas memory you will share with us? Love and joy to you and yours.
Greg Lake:
I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE RECORDING OF I BELIEVE IN FATHER CHRISTMAS WITH A 100 PIECE CHOIR AND ORCHESTRA. IT WAS AN INCREDIBLY MOVING THING TO WITNESS
shlomo:
In your case, usually what comes first, words, melody, or simultaneously?
Greg Lake:
THERE IS NO FORMULA FOR WRITING SONGS OTHER THAN THAT THEY ARE SIMPLY FEELINGS EXPRESSED IN WORDS AND MUSIC. THE CRAFT OF MAKING THEM SOUND GOOD IS SOMETHING SEPARATE.
greenhazel351:
Greg, I would love to see you play at the Christmas concert with Ian Anderson next Friday. Any chance of filming and posting part of it on your official YouTube channel?
Greg Lake:
I DON'T THINK THEY WILL FILM IT AND I AM SORRY IT GOT SOLD OUT FAST, I AM GETTING A LOT OF REQUESTS FOR TICKETS ETC
XLR8:
Hi, Greg. Have you ever considered doing an album of covers of other artist’s songs? Are there other artist’s songs that you think that you would perform well?
Greg Lake:
IT IS VERY STRANGE THAT YOU SHOULD SAY THAT BECAUSE IT IS SOMETHING THAT HAS BEEN SUGGESTED TO ME RECENTLY BY MY RECORD COMPANY. IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR SONGS YOU WOULD LIKE TO HEAR ME SING THEN PLEASE SEND THEM TO EILEEN @ GREGLAKE.COM
shlomo:
What triggers you when you want to choose a topic to write a song?
Greg Lake:
COULD BE ANYTHING REALLY, SOMETIMES IT COMES FROM A GUITAR LICK, SOMETIMES FROM A LINE OF POETY OR JUST A STRING OF WORDS. THERE REALLY IS NO FORMULA
Bernie:
Dear Greg, it was an amazing CD the one you and ELP released from the Mar y Sol festival. I am thrilled to see you touring again. Will you add up some new King Crimson tracks to the show? I would love to see Epitaph and In the Wake of Poseidon sung by the original voice. Thanks for many years of enjoyment! Bernie from Chile.
Greg Lake:
HI BERNIE,
I WILL BEAR THAT IN MIND, THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTIONS.
knifeedge3:

YOU ARE MOST KIND, IT IS A PLEASURE FOR ME TO SHARE THIS TIME WITH SUCH A LOVE;LY GROUP OF PEOPLE
luckymanelp:
Greg, oh my father, great song. Will you put it on iTunes?
Greg Lake:
YOU ARE VERY KIND, TO BE HONEST IT WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE RELEASED BUT SOMEONE GOT HOLD OF A COIPY AND THE NEXT THING I KNEW IT WAS ON ONE OF THE COMPILATIONS
karen or milemarker:
my Q is: Q: How come while on stage with ELP you sometimes positioned yourself stage left and other times center stage?
Greg Lake:
I USUALLY PLAYED STAGE LEFT BECAUSE IT PROVIDED A BETTER ALL ROUND BALANCE TO THE SHOW. IT ALSO KEPT ME AWAY FROM THE EXTRAORDINARILY HIGH VOLUME LEVELS COMING FROM THE KEYBOARDS
shlomo:
Have you been in Israel since 1975? Any chance you will come to visit in our beautiful country in the near future?
Greg Lake:
I WOULD LOVE TO COME AND PERFORM IN ISREAL AGAIN MAYBE IF YOU SPEAK WITH YOUR LOCAL PROMOTER THERE THEN PERHAPS HE WILL BE ABLE TO LOOK INTO IT.
brewer1:
Tell us a bit about your family...what did your father/mother do for a living?
Greg Lake:
IT WILL ALL BE THERE IN MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY WHICH WILL BE RELEASED EARLY NEXT YEAR TO COINCIDE WITH THE TOUR. MY MUM WAS A GREAT MUM AND MY DAD WAS A GREAT DAD, HE WAS ALSO AN ENGINEER
aquatarkus1971:
Greg, is it right you were recording or mixing some old tracks in surround sound for release? If so what happened to the tracks?
Greg Lake:
IT IS RIGHT, I AM WORKING TO COMPLETE THE RECORD AS WE SPEAK, WELL NOT QUITE AS WE SPEAK BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
yeser111@netzero.net:
Hello Greg - Would you ever consider working with Rick Wakeman?
Greg Lake:
I KNOW RICH AND HE IS A LOVELY CHAP AND A GREAT [LAYER BUT I THINK AFTER HAVING DONE SO MUCH KEYBOARD BASED MUSIC WITH KEITH IT WOULD PROBABLY BE A BIT STRANGE PERFORMING WITH RICK
dailrobertcox@hotmail.com:
Just one comment Greg. Thanks for all the work you have done over the years. It has enriched the lives of millions of people and I am personally very grateful to you..Bob
Greg Lake:
DEAR BOB, THANK YOU SO MUCH, I AM HONESTLY TOUCHED BY YOUR VERY KIND WORDS AND THAT IS WHAT MAKES ME WANT TO KEEP ON PERFORMING
Frank_McLaughlin:
Hi Greg, why have wee not seen the ultimate album that ELP have not recorded yet, in a way none of the members have really recorded anything that is adventurous in years, Carl pretends that he is doing something with Asia, but its run of the mill. All of ELP should be looking to do something special or simply give up, as it not acceptable for three guys doing their version of ELP individually and not doing something new. For years you have stated your in the studio but nothing concrete seen
Greg Lake:
I AM VERY GLAD THAT YOU LIKED THE EARLY ELP RECORDS I ALSO LIKE THEM AS WELL. THE TRUTH IS THAT FROM A CREATIVE PERSPECTIVE I THINK IT IS UNLIKELY THAT WE WILL DO ANOTHER STUDIO ALBUM, HOWEVER, TIME HAS NOW TAUGHT ME TO BE CAREFUL NOT TO SAY THE WORD NEVER BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW.
Tirzah2:
Would you be interested in having a concrete in the Kansas City Mo area?
Greg Lake:
I THINK YOU MEAN A CONCERT! BUT YES, I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING THERE PROVIDED YOU DON'T COVER ME IN CONCRETE!!!!!!
Ina:
Hi Greg, first of all: Thanks for the music! Do you have plans for another solo album? Any plans to do shows in Germany? Thanks and have great holidays with your family.

YOU ARE VERY KIND. I AM EXTREMELY AT HOME IN GERMANY AND VERY MUCH LOOK FORWARD TO PERFORMING THERE AGAIN.

Hi Greg, any news on your book you talked about in earlier chats?
Greg Lake:
AUTOBIOGRAPHY TO BE RELEASED THIS COMING YEAR TO COINCIDE WITH THE TOUR, MANY THANKS
yeser111@netzero.net:
Hello Greg - Have you ever used a guitar synth in the studio or while performing?
Greg Lake:
I HAVE OFTEN EXPERIMENTED BUT I THINK I AM A BIT OF A PURIST WHEN IT COMES TO GUITARS AND I LIKE TO HEAR THEM SPEAK IN THEIR OWN VOICE.
aquatarkus1971:
Hi Greg, wishing you a great christmas, will the coming tour come to the UK, especially thew south coast (isle of wight) maybe :)

Greg Lake:
PERSONALLY I LOVE THE MUSIC OF ELP AND I WILL NEVER SAY SAY NEVER
Tirzah2:
?Hi Greg, what do you do on a normal day
Greg Lake:
IN MY LIFE I'M AFRAID THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A NORMAL DAY

Richardk:
Hi Greg, I was very happy to see you again last year in London, your voice and your performance was at the best and I was already looking forward to see you at the Manticore Hall concert here in Switzerland, but unfortunately it didnt happen. Is there an European leg of your tour and will you come to Switzerland?
Greg Lake:
I USED TO LIVE IN SWITZERLAND AND AM VERY FOND OF THE SWISS PEOPLE, MAKE SURE YOU SPEAK TO YOUR LOCAL PROMOTER
mike15:
Hi Greg, saw one of your shows with Keith last year, any plans for a dvd of the shows?
Greg Lake:
WE ARE LOOKING INTO IT RIGHT NOW, MANY THANKS.

Hi Greg, 41 years I have been a fan of ELP, and you especially! I hope you come to Southern California. I wonder how you came to the decision to do this tour (short answer is fine). Did you think about it for a long time, or just wake up one morning and feel the need!
Greg Lake:
I THOUGHT ABOUT DOINBG THIS FOR MANY YEARS AND I DECIDED TO DO IT TO COINCIDE WITH THE RELEASE OF MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY WHICH WILL BE RELEASE IN EARLY 2012. I AM SURE I WILL SEE YOU ON THE WEST COAST

msmaclen:
Happy Holidays, Greg! Is there any chance that the film for the Montreal Works show will be remastered? Thank you for your wonderful music! It is such a blessing in my life! Love ya!

THANK YOUI SO MUCH, THERE ARE NO PLANS RIGHT NOW BUT NOW YOU MENTION IT I WILL CERTAINLY LOOK INTO IT

Gobel:
Hi Greg - I know your views on organized religion, but I've always been curious if you believe in God?
Greg Lake:
IT SEEMS TO ME THAT IF THERE IS A GOD IT IS MANIFESTED IN NATURE. I THINK IT WAS KAHIL GIBRAN WHO SAID, "I DISCOVERED THE SECRET OF THE OCEAN UPON THE CONTEMPLATION OF A DEWDROP.

Ina:
Hi Greg, first of all: Thanks for the music! Do you have plans for another solo album? Any plans to do shows in Germany? Thanks and have great holidays with your family.

Hey Greg..Do you have any information about any "unreleased" material from ELP..be it "live" or "studio" that you guys will be releasing in the near future to your fans?

NOT RIGHT NOW BUT WE ARE ALWAYS INTERESTED IN EXPANDING THE ELP CATALOGUE

admin:
Greg is now taking your questions
yeser111@netzero.net:
Hello Mr Lake - Have you ever used a guitar synth in the studio or performing live?
Greg Lake:
I HAVE PLAYED WITH THEM MANY TIMES IN REHEARSAL ETC BUT I USUALLY LEAVE SYNTHS TO THE KEYBOARDS. I AM ALSO A BIT OF PURIST WHERE GUITARS ARE CONCERNED AND I LIKE TO HEAR THEM SPEAKING IN THEIR OWN RIGHT.
Medicaldrummer:
Hi Greg, I am in California. Any consideration of making a Super Group with Anderson of Tull and a couple more of your buddies and set the world on Fire like ASIA and ELP did. You huys can do it!

NO PLANS RIGHT NOW BUT I AM PLAYING WITH IAN ON THE 16TH DEC AT SALISBURY CATHEDERAL IN THE UK

Richardk:
Hi Greg is there a European leg of your tour and will you come to Switzerland?
Greg Lake:
I CERTAINLY HOPE SO, MAKE SURE YOU SPEAK TO YOUR LOCAL PROMOTER
Carlos Bill:
Hi Greg. I'm a bass player, so I'd like to know three things: One, what were your favorite chords (for the four string bass) in the PICTURES AT AN EXHIBITION and WELCOME BACK, MY FRIENDS...live records? Two, do you consider your former bass scales more from a melodic viewpoint, or harmonic viewpoint? And, three, when you was a bass player, did your technique be complete enough so that, say, Keith Emerson's keyboard chords would not be so essential for keeping your own grooves? Thanks!
Greg Lake:
HELLO BILL, BASS IS A SUPPORTIVE INSTRUMENT, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO SUPPORT AND UNDERPIN THE MUSIC, I'M AFRAID THE TECH STUFF IS TO IN DEPTH TO DISCUSS RIGHT NOW.
i1bdi:
Greg, Bill Snyder here from KMMT and KRHV radio in California. I am looking forward to our interview later this week and many of my listeners will be participating in the chat today. Do you have any plans on coming to California next year?
